Physical therapists provide services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease.
Therapists have a goal of increasing mobility, range of motion, balance, strength and endurance. You will also be provided with a home exercise program to expedite your recovery.
Speech-language pathologists use special instruments and qualitative and quantitative assessment methods, including standardized tests, to analyze and diagnose the nature and extent of impairments.
This can include; treating stroke, brain injury, brain deterioration, developmental delays or disorders, learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, cleft palate, voice pathology, mental retardation, hearing loss, or emotional problems.
Occupational therapists work with a variety of patients in different classifications and age groups from toddlers to elderly patients.
The goal of an occupational therapist is to assist you in achieving independence in performing daily activities using specialized programs specific to your limitations.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the science of using learning principles to improve lives. Decades of research have shown that ABA therapy is the most successful treatment for children with autism.
Through assessment of environmental influences on behavior and development of interventions targeting these influences, ABA teaches skills that will allow the child to be successful in the home, school, and community by improving cognitive, language, social, and self-help skills.
ABA can also help decrease severe problem behaviors that pose health and safety risks and limit community engagement.
